Desktop Hub for Samsung DeX 2.50

This app does not provide DeX mode functionality. To use DeX mode, you will need a DeX enabled device and a USB-C to Display output adapter.

The resolution override function requires USB debugging to be enabled in the device's developer settings before running the configuration. Once the configuration is complete, you can disable USB debugging.

• Enhanced input: This feature provides support for more keyboard hotkeys and key combinations, enhancing productivity across various applications.
• Multi-Instancing: With this feature, you can launch multiple instances of supported apps, such as the calculator.
• True windowed mode: This feature enables all apps to function properly, including those that typically require a touch screen or are limited to a phone-sized window. It provides true windowed and fullscreen support without the need for any hacks.
• Auto launch: You can add multiple apps of your choice to the startup list, and they will automatically launch when DeX mode is activated.
• Alternative start menu: This feature brings a more desktop-like experience to the Android desktop. It includes quick search launch, quick access to power button, settings app, Play Store app, pictures app, documents folder, and file explorer app. It supports launching via the Meta/Windows key or Meta+Alt if you prefer not to replace the default start menu. Additionally, it adds multi-instance launching support to the desktop experience.
• Install Linux on your device: This feature allows you to install Linux on your device, providing access to software that is typically not available on Android devices.
• Resolution override: This feature offers additional resolution and DPI configuration options for your device.
• Disable 'Shift+Space' language switch:
• Replace 'Meta+E' (Windows key/cmd key + E): This feature allows you to launch the file explorer instead of email when pressing the specified key combination.
• Customizable auto desktop startup/exit device config changes: You can customize the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and HDMI Audio out settings for automatic changes when entering or exiting desktop mode.
• Independent volume profiles: This feature allows you to set separate volume profiles for both phone and desktop modes, with automatic adjustment when switching between modes.
• Custom desktop Startup, Exit, USB connect and disconnect sounds: This app supports custom sounds for desktop startup, exit, USB connect, and disconnect events.
• Brightness reduction and red tint support: This feature provides quick keyboard shortcuts to reduce eye-strain by adjusting brightness and enabling red tint without the need to launch any additional apps.
• Desktop version info: You can check the version info of DeX from within Desktop Hub.

This app was originally designed for the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+/S9/S9+/Note 8 and the DeX Station dock accessory. Beta support for alternative Android desktop devices has also been added.

Permissions:

• Apps that can appear on top: This permission is required for the brightness overlay feature.
• Apps that can change system settings: This permission allows the app to control Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings.
• Usage data access: This permission enables the app to monitor device resources such as CPU, RAM, storage, and running background services.
• Accessibility service: This permission is necessary for keyboard input detection, system events (e.g., showing power menu and minimizing all windows), pinch-to-zoom simulation, and handling brightness overlay.
